About Our Bankruptcy Fees

Our primary focus at the Law Offices of Evan M. Rosen, is to provide exceptional legal representation and individualized personal service — IT IS NEVER ON figuring out ways to make the most amount of money possible on each case. We will be glad to make time to talk with you, either on the phone or in person. We can discuss your case, your financial situation, what concerns you have and what you hope to achieve. In most situations, we typically can offer some initial opinions about what the best option might be for you — all for no cost. During this FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION, we will also discuss what we believe would be a reasonable fee for the anticipated legal work required, and we will be happy to do all that we can to accommodate you and your situation.

We know that the reason you are here on our website, considering bankruptcy, is because you are most likely facing some substantial financial challenges. We are understand your concerns about having to spend money to hire a lawyer and want to do all that we can to work with you regarding our fees. Since every case is different, and in order to be fair to all of our clients, we are unable to post the same flat-rate fee online for everyone. Some bankruptcy matters don’t take as much work as others. But, to give you a general idea of what it usually costs, our fees in a Chapter 7 case can range from $1,250 to $2,000. Those figures do not include what the court charges for the initial filing fee or additional costs. Also, we are more than happy to arrange affordable payment plans so you never have to pay the fee all at once. Chapter 13 cases demand a great deal more work than Chapter 7 cases, so our fees are usually around $3,000, which also does not include the court’s initial filing fees or additional costs. However, in a Chapter 13 case, you only pay $1,000 along with the court’s filing fee upfront and again, we will gladly work with you to spread out the payments if that’s what you need. After the initial $1,000 fee, the remainder can be paid over the next several months through the Chapter 13 plan.

The current filing fees in Chapter 7 cases are $306, and they are $281 in Chapter 13 cases. We can request the court to waive the initial $306 filing fee in a chapter 7 if your income is less than 150 percent of the official poverty guidelines. The filing fee cannot be waived in a Chapter 13 case, but it can be paid in installments.
